    how long do I have to file a claim/lawsuit?

    The sooner you file your claim or lawsuit the better. Each state has a certain time limit on how long you can wait before filing a claim. That time period is known as a “statute of limitations.” In some states, that limitation is 30 days, where in other states, it could be a few years. In the state of Indiana, your claim must be filed within two years after your injury. Waiting longer than two years could mean that your claim is void and you will not be able to file your suit.
