CSA 2010 Data Preview
In August, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) announced further actions for the 2010 Comprehensive Safety Analysis. Commercial truck carriers will now be able to view individual safety assessments of the new Data Preview Website.
This new website will allow motor carriers to view their standing in each Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Category (BASIC). Individual assessments will only be visible to the carrier and the enforcement staff until December 2010. This December, every assessment will then be made available to the public. The FMSCA is allowing the motor carrier industry to view their performance data and take steps to improve and comply with all regulations. This will be an important step in correcting unsafe driving and safety practices.
